Meet the Team
Clare Warwick, Chief Executive Officer
Clare prior to working at Carlisle key worked as a Student Mentor at Lakes College, previous to that she worked at the University of Cumbria where she advised young people from low socio-economic backgrounds on getting in and going to University.
Clare has a BA in Media Production, PGDip in Business Administration and is working towards an MBA. She has a PGCE in Life Long Learning. She trained as a Media 6th Form Teacher and was drawn to the pastoral aspect of the role.
Clare spent time living in Canada and enjoys skiing, music and socializing.

Iain McNee, Operations Manager
Iain previously volunteered for Carlisle Key before being offered the Project and Outreach Worker position. On April 1st, 2019 Iain became the Operations Manager for Carlisle Key and is responsible for Key Housing on Compton Street in Carlisle city center as well as the Key Drop In Service on Fisher Street also in Carlisle city center
Previously Iain worked for the Coalition for the Homeless in New York City, working in welfare hotels and shelters in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan. Originally from Carlisle, Iain lived in New York for 29 years and is also a United States citizen. He has a lot of experience working with inner city youth through various Hip Hop companies he owned while living in Brooklyn.
Maria Holmes, Drop In Supervisor
Maria has a background in Health and Social Care and has worked in both Adults and Children's Services as a Learning Development Officer.
Maria began volunteering at Carlisle Key in 2015 and decided she would really like to work for us. She has worked as an administrator at Carlisle Key since 2016 and began her new role as Drop In Supervisor in April 2019.
Maria works for the local church in the community and organizes social events.
Ste Harkins, Project & Outreach Worker
Ste volunteered with Carlisle Key in 2018 and became our Project and Outreach worker in April 2019. Ste has coached Rugby in Carlisle for many years and has a great rapport with young people.
Ste also runs our drop in service in Penrith every Wednesday 12:30 - 3:30pm at the Citizens Advice Bureau offices on Sandgate, Penrith
Nicola Hope, P/T Project Worker
Nicola started by volunteering for Carlisle Key in 2015, she loves working with young people. She has been a Bank Project Worker since 2016 and a Project Worker since 2017.
Previously Nicola volunteered for CADAS where she was a drug and alcohol counselor and delivered Black Box Therapy, she has a lot of experience working with people who have drug and alcohol misuse problems and mental health issues.
Christine Wilson, Counsellor MBACP
Christine has a background in Office Management, Business & Finance and more recently Mentoring young people.
Christine joined Carlisle Key in 2015 and she has experienced the benefits of counselling on a personal level. This has inspired her to complete a Dip HE in Counselling.
